Benefits of a 2 Stage Gas Furnace

If you’re in the market for a new furnace, you may want to consider upgrading to a 2 stage gas furnace. These types of furnaces offer a range of benefits over traditional, single-stage models. Let’s dive deeper into some of the key advantages of a 2 stage gas furnace.

Increased Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency is a critical factor to consider when it comes to your furnace. Traditional, single-stage furnaces only have one heat output setting, which means they’re either running at full capacity or not running at all. This can lead to wasted energy and higher utility bills.

On the other hand, a 2 stage gas furnace has two settings for heat output: high and low. This allows the furnace to adjust its heat output based on the temperature inside your home, meaning it’s working more efficiently to keep your home warm. In fact, a 2 stage gas furnace can be up to 30% more efficient than traditional, single-stage models.

Better Temperature Control

With a single-stage furnace, you’re stuck with one set temperature, which can make it difficult to achieve the perfect level of warmth in your home. In contrast, a 2 stage gas furnace allows you to adjust the temperature in your home more precisely.

In addition, 2 stage furnaces give more flexibility to the thermostat to adjust the temperature. For instance, it can run on low heat output while fewer people are present and increase its heat output when more people are present, making it more comfortable for everyone inside.

Improved Indoor Air Quality

2 stage gas furnaces can help improve the indoor air quality in your home. They run more efficiently and don’t waste energy, resulting in fewer pollutants and emissions. This means that the air inside your home will be cleaner and healthier for you and your family to breathe.

Moreover, you can further enhance the indoor air quality of your home by upgrading your 2 stage gas furnace with improved air filters and/or air purification systems. These systems can help remove allergens, dust, and other particles from the air, making it particularly beneficial for people who suffer from allergies or respiratory conditions.

Quiet Operation

Another advantage of 2 stage gas furnaces is their quiet operation. Traditional furnaces can be noisy when they turn on and off, but 2 stage furnaces are designed to run more smoothly and quietly. This means you can enjoy a more comfortable and peaceful home environment.

Longer Lifespan

2 stage gas furnaces are built to last longer than single-stage furnaces. They typically have a longer lifespan and require fewer repairs over time. This means you can save money on maintenance and replacement costs in the long run.

I've been a customer of Rox air for a few years. Both for air and heating but also water heater. I am on there maintenance plan and they come out twice a year and do a thorough job checking out the systems. They spend a lot of time to make sure everything is working right for the next season. I would recommend them to anyone.

Rox Heating replaced my almost 30 year old HVAC with a new heat pump recently. The experience was extremely positive from the very beginning till the job got completed. Scheduling process was hustle free, techs arrived right on time and gave us a heads up call 30 minutes prior to their arrival. They kept us informed on the installation progress, which was great since we were had activities planned that day and had to adjust our schedule. ROX techs gave us a detailed walkthrough on how to use the new heat pump. We really appreciated follow up calls from ROX’s office to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend ROX Heating and Air to anyone who needs help with any type of HVAC work.
