How to Prepare for Your HVAC Service Call

At ROX Heating & Air, we understand that even a minor HVAC hiccup can disrupt your entire home comfort zone. That’s why we strive to make our service calls as smooth and efficient as possible. Here’s how you can prepare for your appointment to ensure a quick diagnosis and a speedy resolution:

Prepping for Peak Performance:

  • Air Filter on Deck: A fresh air filter can work wonders for your system’s efficiency. Please have a new air filter on hand for your technician to replace during the visit.
  • Clear the Way: Both your indoor unit (often located in a basement, crawlspace, or closet) and outdoor condenser unit need easy access. Move furniture, toys, or landscaping elements that might be blocking the technician.
  • Animal Attentiveness: Our technicians love furry friends, but having pets underfoot during the service call can create a safety hazard. Plan to secure your pets in another area of the house for the duration of the appointment.

Questions at the Ready:

Having a list of questions for your technician is a great way to get the most out of your service call. Here are a few prompts to get you started:

  • What caused the issue with my system?
  • Can you explain the repairs you’re recommending?
  • How can I prevent this from happening again in the future?
  • Are there any maintenance tips I should be aware of?

Your Questions Welcome, But Safety First:

While we’re happy to answer your questions and explain our process, having a clear work area is essential for your safety and the technician’s efficiency.

We appreciate you being available during the appointment window in case the technician needs to discuss anything with you.

For Your Safety and Ours:

For service calls at residences, it’s important to have an adult 18 years or older present during the technician’s visit.

The More You Know:

Is there anything else you think might be helpful for the technician to know? For instance, has your system been experiencing any unusual noises, smells, or behaviors? Sharing these details beforehand can help us diagnose the problem faster.

At ROX Heating & Air, your comfort is our priority. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions before, during, or after your service call. We’re always happy to lend a helping hand!
